Couples who want to grow stronger together and enhance the quality of their relationship are invited to join this wonderfully experiential and interactive relationship education programme based on the book Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for A Lifetime of Love by Dr Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Each HMT series comprises two days of short lively presentations to the group and watching short video clips of couples taking part in HMT sessions with Dr Sue Johnson followed by safely facilitated deeply engaging intimate conversations that help each couple develop more openness, responsiveness and trust in each other. The healing happens in the conversations. The group rejoin after each private couple conversation and those who feel like can share their experiences so we all learn from each other. These open-hearted couple conversations provide a stable foundation for safe loving relationships.
This workshop is open to couples who want to deepen trust and intimacy within their relationship rather than couples in acute distress who would really benefit from couple therapy to overcome their relationship distress.
If your relationship has become like a wilting plant in need of some watering, then HMT might be what is needed to spring it back to life. It is ideal for committed couples who want to improve their communication and connection or couples who have just started dating or are about to commit to a long-term relationship through moving in together, getting married or civic partnerships. All races, religious and sexual orientations are welcome.
Health warning: The Hold Me Tight Programme is not intended to be a substitute for individual or couples therapy. If you or your partner are experiencing significant relationship distress, serious depression or other mental health problems, you are advised to seek individual or couple therapy first and foremost.
By the end of the workshop, you will:

I regularly enjoy facilitating these healing and transformative HMT workshops for small groups of couples at my venue in Winchmore Hill, North London over two consecutive days, a Thursday and Friday from 10am to 4pm.
The Quaker venue is a historic beautiful building located in tranquil grounds. There are lovely cafes and restuarants dotted round The Green to dine out for lunch. Light refreshments and drinks are provided during breaks.
Max 6 couples per series to ensure couples can receive my support if needed during the private conversations.
If you would like to register for a Hold Me Tight workshop with your partner, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out about availability, cost and dates. The HMT workshops are booked on a first-come first-serve basis.
Before attending, I highly recommend reading at least the first four chapters of Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for A Lifetime of Love
